This blog will be updated as often as I can. Where Do I start? Up until December 2008, I was self motivated and self-employed with a good salary of over 50k a year. Then the bottom fell out of my world when I was made unemployed. At first I thought this situation was just a little set back, I thought I was invincible. I will get a job after Christmas I thought, How wrong was I. I actually thought I was good at my job having been in the construction industry for over 25 years, you would of said that getting back to work would be relatively easy. I had lots of contacts and friends within the business. However, the whole country was in recession. After sending 50 plus CV's out to companies and employment agency's and not getting any feed back what so ever. I started to ask questions as to why. There were a few factors giving me a disadvantage; all the experience means nothing unless you have paperwork to say you can. All I had was what they class as Grandfather rights - the knowledge was passed down generation to generation from brush boy to Managing director.
